Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do the participants get ?

You should visit this page for a benefits matrix. We are giving participants the "Value" package, so they receive everything in that column. The highlights are; free one year domain name registration, three months free hosting, several email addresses, etc.

How much will they pay after the three months are up, and how long are they committed for ?

Bizland has agreed to extend the $ 9.95 per month special price to our participants. This is roughly half the normal fee. Participants are on a month to month contract and may cancel at any time. There are however, significant discounts available from Bizland if they pay in advance for longer terms.

Who is responsible for support ?

Bizland offers online support for anything related to the web sites, email etc. In addition, California Software Studio is available for next level support, and we anticipate that each PIC will want to be involved in supporting their local participants to build relationships.

How many people do we need to have interested before we can schedule a seminar ?

Eight people is generally considered the bare minimum to make a seminar worth doing.

How many seminars can I schedule ?

As many as you like. Obviously it is easier and less expensive if seminars are held on consecutive days.

What hours should we schedule for ?

Our instructors want as much time as you can get them, but at the same time we understand the realities of what small business owners can or will commit to. Ultimately, this is your call.

Do all participants have to attend the afternoon workshop ?

No, but unless they have published their site in the morning session, we are going to try hard to get them to stay.

Can someone that went through the seminar already just attend the afternoon workshop ?

Yes, and that's encouraged. But if space gets tight, you will make the call on who attends.

If someone already went through the seminars last year and let their account expire, do we still give them three free months again ?

Yes. They may be able to use their old account id again, but their previous work may or may not be recoverable.

What if someone kept paying Bizland after the first three months, their account is still active, but they want to go through the seminar again, do they get three months of their account free ?

No. They are welcome to attend, and will receive all the materials, but we only have so much funding available, and we would really like to reach as many businesses as possible with those limited funds.

We already have seminars scheduled to teach website development using Front Page ( or Dream Weaver, or HomeSite, or ...), how can we integrate those to Website Initiative 2005 seminars ?

We teach the use of a web browser based site editor that is pretty specific to the hosting platform, so the actual site building methods we teach probably can't be merged.

If someone needs a more complex site than what Bizland can handle, what do they do ?

We can help them both with their options and moving their site from Bizland. There will most likely be costs involved.
